SOUR CRUDE

Crude oil is considered sour if it contains more than 0.5% sulfur. Sweet crude oil is mainly processed into gasoline, kerosene and high quality diesel. Sour crude is less cost effective to process into gasoline; therefore, sour crude is usually processed into heavier oils like diesel and fuel oil.
